Ceramic filter plate production process:

The organic foam with three-dimensional network structure and connected pores was used as a carrier to penetrate into the thixotropic special ceramic slurry, and it was uniformly coated on the skeleton of the carrier by a special roller extrusion process, and then baked and solidified at high temperature. It can effectively remove large inclusions in liquid aluminum and adsorb small inclusion particles with micron size. It can improve surface quality, product properties, microstructure and yield of finished products.

Filtration mechanism of ceramic filter plate

1. Filter cake mechanism: the composite structure of ceramic filter plate can process slag effectively. When metal liquid passes through foam ceramic filter, the structure is complex. Through the mechanical separation of the filter medium, the filter surface larger than the hole is filtered and precipitated at the end of the filtered liquid metal, becoming a component filter. More and more inclusions accumulate on the filter surface, gradually forming a layer of filter cake, further refining the metal flow, by adding filter media on the surface, more small packages can be filtered out. At the same time, the media has a filtering effect. The ceramic body and the number of holes have small cracks or death. In different fields, these variations are possible locations of intercepted inclusions, with a "pie" effect in the filter.

2. Surface effect: When the molten metal flowing through the ceramic body has a complex structure, it is divided into many small flows, which increases the contact area and contact probability of the liquid metal inclusions and the filtering medium. Because of the small concave and convex shape of the filter surface, the size of the concave block is about 1-10 meters, and the inclusion is intercepted by electrostatic adsorption and adhesion.

3. Rectifying effect: the liquid metal foam ceramic filter is divided into many smaller unit flows and smaller diameters, and the Reynolds number (Re=VD/R) becomes smaller, making the liquid flow tend to laminar flow. When liquid metal is in laminar flow state, because the density of liquid metal is much greater than the density of inclusion, there is enough time to float to remove, foam ceramic filter plate can assist in slag removal. The flow resistance of the filter placed in the pouring system increases, and the liquid metal flow forms sufficient movement in the pouring of the liquid metal, thus reducing the flow rate, which is conducive to the inclusion floating and remaining on the top of the flow channel.
