Rotary degasser is a rotor that rotates at high speed and injects inert gas, breaking large inert gas bubbles into very small bubbles, so that they are evenly dispersed in the molten metal. By reducing the bubble diameter, the total surface area of these bubbles increases dramatically, allowing more inert bubble surfaces to come into contact with hydrogen and impurities in the molten metal, bringing these harmful substances to the liquid level.

The key to the degassing of the rotary degassing machine is that the rotor can break up the large bubble of the inert gas into small bubbles, and make it diffuse in the whole molten metal. By reducing the diameter of the bubble, the surface area of the inert gas increases dramatically, making more of the inert gas surface in contact with hydrogen and impurities in the molten metal, and hydrogen or impurities are removed from the molten aluminum as the bubble rises.

The flow control of inert gas into liquid aluminum can adjust the flow of gas according to the volume of processed liquid metal, adjust the speed of rotating rod and rotor, and produce bubbles of appropriate size to facilitate the diffusion of inert gas.

Both argon and nitrogen can be used as inert gases to remove gases from molten aluminum. Noble gases are more than 99.99% pure.

Degassing involves injecting inert gas into molten aluminum to remove hydrogen. In addition, degassing is considered a very effective method of floating impurities. Two main theoretical models have been proposed to explain the mechanism of degassing. The macroscopic model assumes that the removal of impurities is essentially similar. In the microscopic model, according to this theory, dissolved hydrogen diffuses into the injected liquid aluminum due to the high vapor pressure of hydrogen. In theory, the inclusion, which is 10 microns in diameter, comes into contact with the bubble, gets attached to it and floats to the surface of the liquid.
